| Team Connexus makes a fast break onto the local sports scene. |
 |
The
Manayunk Sport and Social Club (MSSC)
is one of Philadelphia's most prominent organizers of
adult recreational sports leagues. Thanks to MSSC, people
who might otherwise never meet can enjoy extracurricular
activities - while developing professional and social
relationships to last a lifetime.
This year, Connexus is sponsoring a team of Drexel University
graduates for Tournament Manayunk, which takes place
one evening a week. So far, Team Connexus has dribbled
and dunked its way to a 8-2 record – earning them
a spot in the playoffs.
Be sure to check back later to see if the Connexus “Dream
Team” can go the distance!

| Kids of the Kingdom helps kids steer clear of the streets. |
 |
Connexus founders Lawrence James and Christopher
Holland know that the best way to keep kids
out of trouble is to offer them a fun, productive alternative.
And that's why they've taken an active role in supporting
Kids of the Kingdom, in conjunction with New Covenant
Presbyterian Church.
Established in 1998, Kids of the Kingdom offers educational
and spiritually enriching activities to city kids between
the ages of 3 and 19. Programs include Biblical lessons,
meals, arts and crafts, special activities, field trips,
sports, and educational classes.

| Connexus feeds the homeless. |
|
In August 2004, Connexus partnered with the New Covenant
Presbyterian Church to provide hot, healthy meals to
homeless people in the Philadelphia region. Several
volunteers gave their time and energy to help cook and
package over 75 meals, which were then distributed to
area shelters.
Currently, Connexus is working with the New Covenant
Church to coordinate additional food preparation projects
that will help homeless people survive the long –
and dangerous – winter months.
